CPO® certification courses are designed to provide individuals with the basic knowledge, techniques, and skills of pool and spa operations. Did you know, the State of Texas requires all pool operators to obtain certification? The PHTA CPO Course has set the standard for pool operation certification.
The PHTA CPO Course can be taken in two different ways:
- Standard two day (16 hours) CPO Course taught in a classroom. This is a hands-on course that allows the student to learn from the instructor as well as their classmates. Day one will cover the majority of the content using Power Point Presentations as well as a hands on approach to many of the topics covered. Day two will cover the rest of the content and include a review segment before the open book test. This is recommended for students who like the presence of an instructor or those who are not comfortable with a computer.
- The Pool Operator Primer online course combined with the Pool Operator Fusion classroom course together form the Blended format of the CPO course. The student will complete the online Pool Operator Primer course at their own speed (restrictions apply) and then attend the second day of a classroom course, or the Fusion segment. This allows the student more flexibility with the course but less hands on learning. This is recommended for those who are comfortable with computers and who have some background with swimming pool operation.
